Goodbye President Hinckley

This morning my sister-in-law, Shannon, and I took the kids downtown to the viewing of President Hinckley. We had such a cool experience. The spirit in the room was tangible and it bore witness that President Hinckley was a prophet of God. I thought I might be emotional but I wasn't. It was no longer President Hinckley, just the body of an old man worn out by years and years of service to us and the Lord. After you exited the room, there were different arrangements of flowers from his family with notes on them. One of them that really touched me was from his grandchildren. It said, "Grandpa, we will always remember to Bee Grateful, Bee Smart, Bee Clean, Bee True, Bee Humble and Bee Prayerful." I know that it is an experience that Lacey and Halle will always remember. Afterwards, we walked over to the temple. Shannon's parents are in the temple presidency, so we went to say hi to them. Shannon's mom took all the kids into the temple to her office. President Hinckley's daugter and husband, President and Sister Walker, are the temple matron and president. She took us into Sister Walker's office and showed the kids some pictures. She also took them into the chapel. My kids felt so special being able to do that. It was a very memorable experience. Thank you Sister Rose.
The kids and I outside of the Conference Center. By the time we got
out the line was very, very long. We timed it just right.
All the cousins in front of the Conference Center. We get Lauren for the weekend because her parents left for Hawaii today (I'm sure they are going to miss all this snow).

The kids with Shannon's mom, Sister Rose.
