Summer at the Beach

Due to some scheduling complications, we went to California for three weeks this summer. Before we left, I was worried that it would be too long. The first week we stayed with the Leany's at their beach house in Laguna and the next two weeks were spent at my parents home in San Clemente. The girls had Grand Camp the last few days before we left. I was surprised because I wasn't even ready to leave when the three weeks were up. We had such a wonderful summer in California...

Halle and Lacey with the Leany girls - Allison, Brooke, and Courtney. They spent a lot of time in the water boogie boarding.
Miss Halle really discovered how much she loves to boogie board.
Jack spent most of his days playing in the sand. By the end of the trip, he was more comfortable with the water which made it harder for me to watch him.
When the girls weren't in the water, they spent time relaxing and acting like teenagers.
Kate was definitely our sand crab this year. They Leany girls weren't used to having little kids with them at the beach and would get frustrated when Jack or Kate would get sand on their towel. It was pretty funny.
Jack would play so hard and then end up crashing on a towel. He is really asleep here. His eyes are just too big so they don't shut all the way when he sleeps. It's pretty freaky.
I think Kate's favorite part of the beach was the treat bag.
Jack the poser.
Wish they all could be California girls...
Lots of smash ball.
Not many waves in the cove, but the girls managed to catch plenty of waves.
Halle and her good friend Parker Cattani. They always hit it off and have such a great time together.
Jack and Carson had fun hanging out. It was nice to have a buddy especially on the days spent at surf camp.
The cutest little sand crabs on the beach.
I think this was the only photo from the night of the 4th of July. This is Kate sitting on Tara's lap.
Kate and MacKenzie. Kenzie was so nice to play so much with Kate.
Jack with a skin board. He tried to use it but could barely lift the thing.
Kate got braver with the water with every day. She was very scary by the end of the trip.
Halle loved the skin board.
More sand crabs.
Halle got really good at boogie boarding especially the days we were at surf camp.
Nana joined us one day at surf camp.
Kate and MacKenzie. I love this picture. We felt so lucky to spend most of our summer in California. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. My happy place is at the beach and as you can tell from our pictures, we spent a lot of time there. We can't wait for next summer.
